Review of the Crisp Blaster

Crisp Blaster Review

Crisp has always been dedicated to advancing freestyle scooters with their cutting-edge designs but has typically targeted older, more skilled riders. With their new Blaster scooter, Crisp has utilized their proven technology and tailored it for younger riders, introducing their first beginner-level scooter.

Spec

Aimed at newcomers, the Blaster is affordably priced at £89.95.

The deck measures 18.9” in length and 4.5” in width, ideal dimensions for younger users. A shorter deck aids in learning tricks, while the deck's width offers easy catching and great stability. Additionally, the deck includes a concave triple channel and a double D downtube with a flat bottom and sides, enhancing durability and ensuring it glides smoothly over coping.

The newly enhanced tapered T-Bars are 19.7” wide and 21.25” high, once again ideal for the younger rider. Narrower bars give smaller riders more control, and when paired with the lower bar height, they are well-suited for mastering basic tricks. The tapering process also strengthens the bar against impact damage and contributes to its sleek appearance.

Moreover, the Blaster is equipped with a high tensile fork, double clamp, HIC headset and compression, Crisp 100mm super high rebound alloy core wheels, and an SST springless brake, with a total weight of just 3.8kg.

How it performs:

The Crisp Blaster is expertly crafted for younger riders and offers an excellent introduction to the skatepark. The wheels provide sufficient speed for executing basic tricks, and the sturdy components ensure it can handle the inevitable wear and tear from a learning rider.

The technical specifications of the Blaster have previously been used in more advanced scooters, giving it a competitive edge and making it ideal for any novice eager to start with a new scooter. The headset facilitates smooth rotation of the tapered bar and high tensile fork, while the HIC compression and clamp function exceptionally well, resulting in a robust riding experience.

Conclusion

As a scooter aimed at beginner riders, I believe the Blaster delivers impressive performance and is the perfect starting point for young riders. With components and specifications designed for higher-end scooters, the £89.95 price point is very reasonable, and Crisp has succeeded in creating an outstanding budget-friendly scooter.
