The inaugural Frontside X Streetwise Winter Bash took place in Birmingham last weekend, held throughout the day on the 19th of November.
Organized by Frontside x Streetwise and backed by The Real District,Blunt Scooters, Drone Scooters, Addict Scootering, Supremacy Scooters, Dogg Scooters,Dominator Scooters, Oath Components, Invert Supreme, Urban Art, Triad Scooters, Chilli Scooters, Blazer Pro Scooters and of course, SkateHut.
The event was hosted at Creation Skatepark in Moseley, Birmingham. The Winter Bash was exclusive to scooters, with over 100 riders of different ages and backgrounds participating. It was fantastic to see the scoot community uniting, from professional riders likeJamie Hull, Sophie Molyneux and Taylor Bardento young, upcoming scooter enthusiasts likeMarcel Nadd and Hayden Harris.
The event kicked off at 10 am, with participants starting to queue outside the venue as early as 9 am. It officially concluded at 5 pm, although a few riders stayed until 7 pm to film, including a scheduled lunch break at 1:30 pm.
Creation accommodates a wide range of riding styles, both street and park. The Winter Bash exceeded expectations by including Vert and Bowl disciplines, which have been uncommon in scooter contests in recent years. Witnessing this was truly impressive.
Congratulations to the winner,Jamie Hull, Ollie Myers, who claimed second place, andFrankie Webb, who took third place.

Who is Streetwise?
Streetwiseis a locally grown collective of three main riders,Harry Brigden, Karson Crane and Josh Shaw. Along with a larger group of friends, they started shooting videos at their local skatepark, Ise Lodge
Over time, Harry expanded his skills into the larger community, filming street jams and events, establishing himself as a cornerstone by creating some of the best Jam videos.
We spoke to Jamie Weirone of the extended members of Streetwise, remarked, “Most of the streetwise crew have been met through street jams where like-minded individuals come together; we all share a love for the sport and have bonded through fortuitous meetings.
Streetwise was involved in the Winter Bash as the primary contributor for filming. Streetwise has developed quite a rapport with Frontside over the past two years, capturing their last anniversary jam v2.”
I also spoke with Harry Brigden, the owner of Streetwise, who said, “Brandon excelled at yet another event, and it’s evident. Everyone had an incredible time, and as I go through the footage while writing this, I can see that the excitement definitely translated into the video, and I can’t wait to share this day with the rest of the scooter community.”
Streetwise's favorite highlights were:
1. Jamie's double flip over the small step-up
2. Tyler's BACKFLIP over the box transfer.
3. Ollie's fall, which didn’t deter him from returning to land the trick, earning him second place and the stack of the day!
Interview with Frontside
My name is Brandon Carter, I am the founder and co-owner of Frontside Supply and the organizer of the Winter Bash
What inspired the Winter Bash?
The concept of the Winter Bash emerged during our 2023 V2 Anniversary Jam, as there are few to no scootering events at this time of year, and I wanted to bridge that gap for the community.
Why did you choose Creation instead of Rugby as the base?
Choosing Creation was straightforward for me since two of our riders (Jamie Weir, Frankie Webb) are locals there, and the venue hasn't hosted a scootering event of this scale since 2011!
What were your favorite moments from the event?
My highlights included seeing how many people were lined up at the doors before opening and watching everyone perform and enjoy themselves.
It was really cool to see scooters on the vert; can you tell us more about this?
The concept of utilizing the vert was to explore the possibility of creating a national competition that I am currently developing, to coincide with the winter bash. Information about this will be announced in mid-2024.
What criteria did you use to select the winners?
The winners in the pro category were chosen based on consistency, dedication, and overall performance throughout the day, as determined by myself and our event host Moses Obibi.
How did the event go overall?
The 2023 Frontside x Streetwise Winter Bash exceeded our expectations; it was an absolute success. I couldn’t be prouder of both our pop-up shop team and the riders for their outstanding performance on that day.
I want to express my gratitude to all the Pro riders who came to support and skate with us! You turned it into an unforgettable experience for us, and I couldn’t be more thankful.
I cannot thank the staff at Creation enough, especially Sam, for being present every step of the way and helping make this event a reality!
A massive thank you to all our sponsors who provided the goods for the riders as well. We hope to see you all again next year!
