As the summer holidays draw to a close, the action sports calendar remains as lively as ever. September stands out as one of the most packed months of the year for competitions and events in the UK, featuring a range of activities from elite national championships to junior series rounds and an extensive all-day festival at Adrenaline Alley. Here's a preview of what's on the horizon.

Stansted Skatepark Jam – Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex
September begins with a grassroots BMX and skate jam at Stansted Skatepark in Essex. This reliable annual event brings together local and regional riders at the start of autumn. The skatepark is located near the Lower Street car park, close to Mountfitchet Castle, offering a relaxed format open to participants of all ages and skill levels.
More details, including specific times and categories, will be announced as the date approaches. Keep an eye on the organiser's social media for updates. If you're in the East of England and seeking a low-key way to re-enter the competition scene after summer, this event is worth noting in your calendar.

Skateboard GB National Street Championships – BaySixty6, London
This is the premier skateboarding event of the autumn and a key fixture in the UK calendar. The Skateboard GB National Street Championships return to BaySixty6, London's famed indoor skatepark beneath the Westway in Ladbroke Grove, hosting a two-day competition with a £10,000 prize pool.
The competition roster includes invited national team riders, British wildcard selections, and applicants chosen by the Skateboard GB panel. Both men's and women's categories are limited to 24 competitors, ensuring a consistently high standard. Even if you're not competing, a visit to BaySixty6 during nationals weekend is worthwhile. The level of skateboarding on display is seldom seen elsewhere in the country.

Adrenaline Alley 24th Anniversary Event – Corby
The largest single-day action sports event of the autumn takes place at Adrenaline Alley in Corby, Europe's biggest indoor skatepark, and home to the SkateHut store. The 24th Anniversary Event is the park's flagship annual celebration, and if the past two years are any indication, it will be a sell-out.
The day features scooter jams (U13, 13+, and PRO, hosted by Moses), BMX jams (U13, 13+, and PRO), a skateboard jam for all ages and skill levels hosted by Dan Webz, an MTB and jumpbike airbag jam, and a WCMX jam. There's also a Spanner meet and greet, a car show, inflatables, and prizes across the pro and amateur categories.
The event runs from 10:30 am to 7 pm. Rider and spectator passes can be booked online. Early-bird pricing offered a discount earlier in the summer, and booking in advance is highly recommended given the event's history of selling out. Both riders and spectators must have their own registered member number to book.
Note: the SkateHut store is located on site at Adrenaline Alley — if you're attending, come and visit us on the day.
