Alleyfest is returning, and it's set to be one of the biggest events on this year's action sports calendar in the UK. 18th July 2026On , Adrenaline Alley will host a full day of competitions and jams for scooters, BMX/MTB, skateboards, inline/quad skates, and WCMX, running from 10:30 am to 7 pm. The event will feature prominent figures in the community, alongside a full schedule of family-friendly activities, including a climbing wall, motorcycle trials demonstrations, a graffiti workshop, and have-a-go sessions, among others.
Whether you're competing, jamming, or simply joining in for fun, one thing is certain: Alleyfest gets crowded. Every year at our Adrenaline Alley store, we see a line of riders looking for last-minute grips, bearings, or new wheels before they hit the park.
So this year, we want to help you avoid the wait. Here's our guide to preparing your scooter, skateboard, or BMX bike before before you arrive, so you can ride more and spend less time at the counter.
Why Prepare Your Equipment Early?
On event days like this, our in-park store is a popular stop for riders needing quick fixes. New grip tape, a changed bearing, or replacement wheels. It's fantastic that we're available to assist, but when hundreds of riders have the same idea simultaneously, waiting for a repair means less time on the ramps.
The good news is that most of what you need is currently available on the SkateHut website, with fast delivery across the UK well before the 18th. Sort it out from home, fit it yourself (or bring it pre-fitted), and walk straight into Alleyfest ready to ride.
Scooter Riders: Prioritize the Essentials
If you're attending Alleyfest with a scooter, check these four things before packing your bag. Worn grips, old grip tape, gritty bearings, and flat-spotted wheels are common reasons riders end up in the shop queue, so address these first.
- Scooter Grips — Worn or slipping grips can cost you a trick, or worse, cause a hand slip mid-run. A new pair restores the control and confidence needed for the jams.
- Scooter Wheels — Flat-spotted or worn wheels won't roll properly on the ramps and bowls at Adrenaline Alley. Replace them for a smoother, faster ride.
- Scooter Grip Tape — Smooth, worn grip tape is an easy fix that significantly improves your footing during take-offs and landings.
- Scooter Bearings — Dirty or worn bearings will slow you down. New ones ensure smoother rolling and less drag all day.
Need a More Extensive Fix? Replace Crucial Parts

- Skateboard Decks — A chipped, delaminating, or dead-feeling deck? A new deck can completely transform your board's performance.
BMX Riders: Be Prepared Too
BMX and MTB riders are equally encouraged to sort parts online in advance, particularly bearings, wheels, and worn contact points, to avoid queuing at the shop between motos.
